Earl Funk is a life-long resident of Steinbach. He is married to Lori, and they have two daughters, one son, one son-in-law and three grandchildren. Mr. Funk has been working in the meat industry for 27 years, and in June 2005, together with his wife, started Earls Meat Market on Main Street in Steinbach.
Through operating a business on Main Street, Mr. Funk has been able to get involved in the Steinbach community in many different capacities. He has volunteered in many local church groups and organizations, and has always had a great love for Steinbach and area.
Mr. Funk has always had a great desire to serve, which is why it felt natural for him to run for office as a councillor, and now Mayor. He is committed to working hard to promote business issues and using all his experience to help Steinbach continue to be a great city to live and work.
Citizen Open Door Days
Mayor Funk is interested in hearing what residents have to say about Steinbach – their views, ideas, and visions for the city. He would like to invite citizens to visit him during a “Citizen Open Door Day.” Mayor Funk will be available from 1 pm – 3 pm on the first and third Friday of each month (with the exception of December) at his office at Steinbach City Hall, 225 Reimer Ave.
This is a great way for citizens of Steinbach to access the Mayor’s office without an appointment. “Citizen Open Door Days” will operate on a first come, first served basis. Residents are given 10 minutes to discuss their issues privately with the mayor.
