Posting #2014-26

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the financial analyst will work with senior management and other teams within the organization. Responsibilities include assisting with financial reporting as well as the budgeting and planning process, implementing and monitoring internal controls, account reconciliations and general ledger maintenance, in addition to working on special projects and initiatives as required.

• Completion of 2nd level of a recognized professional accounting program and has
• Three to five years related experience in a corporate environment
• Experience in supervising processes, GAAP, and PSAB would also be considered an asset
• Proficient in Excel

Posting #2014-25

The City of Steinbach has an opening for a full-time Maintenance/Operator II position in the Public Works Department.

The successful applicant will operate a variety of equipment, such as street sweeper, rubber tire loader, trucks, and sidewalk plow to perform maintenance of streets and boulevards, traffic control, storm drainage systems, and snow and ice control, as well as perform a variety of labouring activities.


• experience in equipment operation
• valid Class 3 drivers with air brake endorsement
• mechanically inclined
• required to work some weekends and evenings in cases of emergencies

The City offers a 40-hour workweek as well as an excellent employee benefits package including pension, dental and major medical, group life insurance and long-term disability. Conditions of employment include an acceptable Criminal Record Check and Driver’s Abstract.

(Contract Basis)

The City of Steinbach requires an individual to provide for the transportation of mobility-disadvantaged persons in Steinbach on a casual basis.

The Service:

•Is provided on weekdays between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm
•Is provided on weekday evenings and weekends depending on availability of the driver
•Is provided to all eligible Steinbach residents who by reason of illness, injury, age, or other incapacity require this specialized transportation service

The Individual:

•Will operate the handi-transit service on casual basis during the days and hours as directed by the City's primary handi-transit contractor

The City of Steinbach will provide an appropriate vehicle for this service. The successful applicant will provide services under the general direction of the City's primary handi-transit contractor and will require a valid Manitoba Class 4 drivers license.
