Drainage
A number of different City departments help keep Steinbach’s drainage system operating smoothly.

Creek Maintenance

The Public Works Department is responsible for ensuring that open channel and drainage ways on public property are unobstructed by trees or major debris that could result in a backup, causing restricted flows.

Creek maintenance requests should be forwarded to the Public Works Department by phone or e-mail.

Drainage on Streets and Roads

The Public Works Department is responsible for ensuring that drainage on public streets and roadways is maintained and that catch basins and public drainage ways are clear of obstructions which may cause water to backup or cause flooding.  If necessary, provisions will be made to temporarily close streets and roadways until the water recedes.
