How do I Set Up an Account?
An application for a water/sewer account must be made at City Hall or by contacting the Utility Clerk at 346-6224 or by email at kmantie@steinbach.ca.

How Often Do I Receive a Bill and What are the Rates?
The City of Steinbach bills quarterly for water & sewer services.  For a copy of our current water & sewer rates, download the City's Rate By-Law 1860.

The waterworks department reads meters at the end of the following months:  March, June, September and December. If the water meter reader is unable to obtain a meter reading, a card will be left at your residence requesting a reading be taken and called in/dropped off. In order to avoid an estimated bill we suggest a meter reading be taken.

Water Leaks Cost Money!
Did you know that a toilet tank flapper valve that does not close properly causing the toilet to run continuously could waste up to 5,000 gallons of water per toilet each day?

To check your toilet for leaks:  Add a few drops of food coloring to the tank and wait 15 minutes.  If any of the color appears in the bowl, then you have a leak.  Flush to remove all coloring from the tank and bowl.  Avoid using the toilet as a trash basket and flush only when needed.

Property Taxes

Due September 30th.
