The City of Steinbach continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely. Providing essential services continues to be our priority while protecting the health and well-being of our residents and employees. With the upcoming changes to the latest provincial public health orders, and the decrease in positive cases of Covid-19 in Steinbach, the city would like to provide the following update regarding city facilities:.

Effective Monday, January 25, City Hall (225 Reimer Avenue) and the city’s Operations Building (51 Millwork Drive) will re-open to the public and resume regular business hours.

Masks are mandatory in all city facilities. Visitors will be subject to safety protocols recommended by Manitoba Public Health, which may include screening questions, physical distancing, hand sanitization, and limits on the number of visitors at one time.

Contactless payment methods – debit and credit cards – are preferred for all in-person visits to city offices, but cash is accepted.

Regularly scheduled council meetings continue to be open to the public. Attendees are required to complete a Covid-19 Self Declaration form and follow all public health protocols.

The Steinbach Landfill continues to be open regular winter hours.

All city play structures, outdoor fitness equipment, toboggan hills, and outdoor rinks are open. The outdoor rink at T.G. Smith Centre and the pleasure skating rink beside the Jake Epp Library are open weather permitting. Dressing rooms and washrooms are not available. Anyone using city outdoor recreational facilities must follow all provincial public health orders.

In compliance with provincial public health orders, the Aquatic Centre and TG Smith Centre remain closed.
