As part of the Manitoba Restore Safe Services Plan, Public Health has now indicated that public access to some services can safely resume. In line with this announcement, the city would like to inform the public that City Hall (225 Reimer Avenue) and the city’s Operations building (51 Millwork Drive) are now open regular hours with some limits to access.
The public is still encouraged to use other available methods to contact the city instead of making in-person visits. Phone and email information for all departments is available or call City Hall at 204-326-9877.
Visitors to any city facilities will be subject to safety protocols recommended by Manitoba Public Health, which may include screening questions, physical distancing, hand sanitization, and limits on the number of visitors at one time.
Contactless payment methods – debit and credit cards – are preferred for all in-person visits to city offices, but cash is accepted. Payments can also be made online, by mail (225 Reimer Avenue, Steinbach, MB R5G 2J1) or by using the 24-hour drop box located by the main entrance of City Hall.
The Steinbach Landfill continues to be open. Handi-Transit service is available on a restricted basis, providing transportation for medical related appointments only. The Steinbach Aquatic Centre and T.G. Smith Centre remain closed until further notice.
The City of Steinbach continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely. Providing essential services continues to be our priority while protecting the health and well-being of our residents and employees.
Updates on the COVID-19 situation as it relates to City of Steinbach facilities, services and programs will continue to be posted at Steinbach.ca. Updates will also be shared through the city’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
We encourage everyone to be aware of the facts regarding COVID-19 and educate themselves and their families on preventative measures. For more information visit www.gov.mb.ca/covid19/
