The fire on Main Street is out but is still being monitored by the Steinbach Fire Department. Minimal smoke is now coming from the site and residents no longer need to shelter in place. Doors and windows can be open and ventilation systems can be used. Anyone with respiratory issues should continue to avoid being close to the area. Thank you for your cooperation during this event.

Steinbach Fire Department continues to battle a significant fire on Main Street between Friesen Avenue and Reimer Avenue. Due to the contents of the structures involved in the fire, the resulting smoke is considered toxic. Residents in the area, or anyone with respiratory issues, should remain indoors, close all windows and doors, and shut off ventilation systems until further notice.
We also ask that residents stay clear of the area to allow fire personnel to continue their work without interference.
