Notice of Public Hearing on July 17, 2018 at 7:35 p.m., Council Chambers, Steinbach City Hall, 225 Reimer Avenue

What are By-Law 2099 & By-Law 2100 about?

By-Law 2099 and By-Law 2100 is the review of the City of Steinbach Official Community Plan and City of Steinbach Zoning By-Law as a result of the recent annexation and the addition of lands into the city boundaries.

By-Law 2099 is the Official Community Plan and is the document that sets out the goals, policies and guidelines intended to direct all physical, social, environmental and economic development in the city now and into the future. All other land use plans must conform to this document.

By-Law 2100 is Zoning By-Law. The general intent of the Zoning By-Law is to:

a) Regulate the use of the buildings, structures and land;

b) Regulate location, height, bulk, size of yards, courts and other open spaces;

c) Divide the City into land use zones of such number, shape and area as may be in keeping to carry out provisions of the City of Steinbach Official Community Plan. These zones generally will prescribe permitted, conditional and accessory uses of lands, buildings and structures;

d) Provide for the issuance of development permits and provide the procedure to obtain an amendment and the fees to be paid.

The City of Steinbach has spent the past few months reviewing and updating the Official Community Plan and Zoning By-Law to reflect the current and future development plans of the city due to the recent annexation.

Any person who believes they will be affected by By-Law 2099 and/or By-Law 2100 is welcome to attend the public hearing on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 to ask questions and state any objections to City Council.
