The sewer and water main installation has been completed beneath McKenzie Avenue, however due to weather delays, asphalt surfacing and curb construction will not take place until Spring 2020. McKenzie Avenue will re-open for normal use starting November 1st.
The following closures will be taking place in Steinbach:
- McKenzie Avenue between Parkhill Crescent and Bushfarm Road from Monday, September 9 until the end of September, weather permitting. Local traffic will continue to have access during this time. The reconstruction of McKenzie Avenue includes a water main installation as well as an upgrade from gravel to asphalt road surface.
- McKenzie Avenue and Bushfarm Road intersection will be closed from September 16-19 for the installation of a culvert. Local traffic is asked to use Hanover Road West and PTH 12 during the three day intersection closure.
These improvements are being completed by the developer of Lexington Village as part of the development agreement for this area.
The City thanks motorists in advance for respecting temporary traffic control pylons and other safety signs set up for the protection of workers.
