The intersection improvements at PTH 12 and Loewen Boulevard have been completed and traffic will return to full operation over the course of today, Monday, November 24th, 2025.

The project was a collaborative effort between the Province of Manitoba and the City of Steinbach to improve the capacity and safety at this intersection.

The major enhancements produced from this project include:

  • The replacement of aged land drainage, sewer and water pipes to ensure the reliability of their necessary use.
  • Improved intersection geometry which expands the traffic capacity and conveyance through the intersection to properly service the growing traffic conditions.
  • Improved sidewalks and active transportation for pedestrians and cyclists.
  • The conversion of overhead power lines to underground on PTH 12 to increase road safety by removing surface obstacles.

The City and the Province would like to thank the business owners and residents for their patience throughout the project.
