The City of Steinbach would like to inform residents that on Sunday, August 17th, at 6:00am, there will be a temporary closure of the current northbound lane on Provincial Trunk Highway (PTH) between south of Elmdale Street to north of Loewen Boulevard before Millwork Drive. This temporary change will allow contractors to complete required sewer pipe inspections before proceeding with road construction.
At this time, traffic will be reduced to one-way, using the single southbound PTH 12 lane with flagpersons on both sides of the closure to direct traffic. Loewen Boulevard traffic will also not be able to turn on to PTH 12.
Access to businesses on the east side of PTH 12 within the parking lot area and right-in/right-out access onto Loewen Boulevard west of PTH 12 will remain available the morning of August 17th.
The traffic management plan is scheduled to return to as it was previously, with two-way traffic on the southbound PTH 12 lanes in the area, at 10:00am.
The City thanks all drivers and residents for exercising caution and following signage when travelling in the area, and for their patience as work on the Loewen/PTH 12 Intersection renewal project continues.
