Over the next few weeks, Steinbach residents living in single-family dwellings will see a recycling bin arrive on their door step. The bins, which are being provided and delivered at no cost, are part of the Recycle Everywhere program by the Canadian Beverage Container Recycling Association. The program's purpose is to promote beverage container recycling wherever they are consumed.

The blue, seven gallon bins are lightweight and compact, allowing them to fit in a variety of places in your home and making it convenient to recycle items. Their size also allows for easy transport to the curb or transferring contents to a larger curbside pick-up bin.

A total of 6,500 bins will be delivered, arriving as soon as today. Deliveries will take place weekdays, between 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., by people wearing "Recycle Everywhere" branded clothing and lanyards. Delivery personnel will not knock on doors or ring doorbells, but rather just leave the bins on door steps. An information card will also be included with useful information about items that are recyclable and those that are not.

Bin deliveries are expected to take place over the next few weeks until all bins have been distributed. Please note that bins will only be delivered to houses, townhouses, and side by side homes in Steinbach. Multi-family houses are not eligible for the program.

The City would like to thank Recycle Everywhere (CBCRA) for providing bins to our community.
