Release — Water flushing on Westgrove Bay may disturb water distribution in the area on Monday morning, August 31
The City of Steinbach Waterworks Department would like to inform residents that between 8:30am and 11:00am on Monday, August 31st, a private contractor is intending to flush water service lines as part of development on Westgrove Bay and, as a result, may affect water distribution at residential properties in the surrounding area.
Properties along the following streets may see discolouration in their water supply during the flushing operations. A map of the affected area is also attached.
- Westgrove Bay
- Ellice Avenue
- Westview Drive
- Westview Place
- Giesbrecht Street
- First Street
- Donald Ave West
- Westdale Street, and
- Cloverdale Street.
It is advised by the Office of Drinking Water and Manitoba Health Seniors and Active Living not to drink discoloured water or use it for purposes such as preparing food, beverages, or infant formula.
If necessary, the City will provide further updates through the City’s website at www.steinbach.ca, through the City’s Steinbach Alert Now emergency notification system to the affected residents, through the City’s social media channels on Facebook, Instagram and X, and to local media outlets.
A follow-up update from the City is scheduled for Monday, August 31st at approximately 12:00 PM.
