There is currently one job opportunity with the City of Steinbach. 

Waterworks Operatior II
Posting # 2017-08

The successful applicant will participate as part of a working team that operates and maintains all categories of the utility system. They will perform the tasks required for the safe and efficient operation of the City’s Water and Wastewater operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 education.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a water or wastewater facility or similar operations.
  • Hold a valid Class 5 Province of Manitoba driver’s license and the ability to obtain air endorsement within 9 months of start date.
  • Hold Manitoba Operator Class II certificates in the following categories: Wastewater Treatment, Wastewater Collection, Water Treatment, and Water Distribution as described in the Province of Manitoba Water and Wastewater Facility Operators regulation.
  • Perform on-call / standby responsibility 1 out of every 4 weeks.
  • Ability to deal with the public.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be willing to work weekend shifts and overtime as required.
  • Preference will be given to individuals with qualifications making them eligible to obtain Class III certification in Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection.

The wage category for this position is $21.40 - $25.20 per hour.
