Instructor Guard (part-time), Steinbach Aquatic Centre
Posting #2016-09

The Steinbach Aquatic Centre is now hiring a part-time instructor/guard for daytime, evening, and weekend shifts, approximately 10-20 hours per week.   

Required current qualifications:

  • NLS
  • WSI (enrollment in WSI will be considered acceptable)
  • Standard First Aid, CPR level C

A criminal record check and child abuse registry will be required as conditions of employment.

City Engineer
Posting #2016-03

Due to the impending retirement of the current incumbent the City of Steinbach is seeking a replacement to fill the role of City Engineer. The City Engineer is responsible for performing such duties as: review and approval of private development designs, design and construction of streets, bridges, water and sewer pipelines, water and sewage treatment plants, sports and cultural facilities, and parks. The City Engineer must have a general understanding of physical sciences; mathematics; hydraulics; municipal engineering and surveying.

Qualifications: 

  • Graduation from a four‑year college or university with a degree in civil engineering, with experience in Municipal Engineering
  • Minimum of ten years previous professional civil engineering experience including at least five years in a Municipal Engineering environment would be an asset
  • Thorough knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices and methods as applicable to a municipal setting
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable City policies, laws, and regulations affecting Department activities
