There are currently two job opportunities at the City. 


Maintenance/Operator II
Posting #2019-10

The City of Steinbach has an opening for a full-time Maintenance/Operator II position in the Public Works Department.

The successful applicant will operate a variety of equipment, such as street sweeper, rubber tire loader, trucks, and sidewalk plow to perform maintenance of streets and boulevards, traffic control, storm drainage systems, and snow and ice control, as well as perform a variety of labouring activities.

Qualifications: 

  • Experience in equipment operation
  • Valid Class 3 drivers with air brake endorsement
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Required to work some weekends and evenings in cases of emergencies

The City offers a 40-hour workweek and benefits package, including a defined benefit pension plan.  Conditions of employment include an acceptable Driver’s Abstract and a Criminal Record Check.

Planning & Zoning Clerk
Posting #2019-07

Reporting to the Senior Manager Corporate Services, the Planning & Zoning Clerk will provide administrative support to the City’s Planning & Zoning Department. Other responsibilities will include main reception for City Planner, Building Inspection, and Engineering; managing customer inquiries; supporting the permit process; and monthly billing.

Qualifications:

Previous office experience
Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
Well developed time management and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
Demonstrated knowledge and work experience with Microsoft Office.

The City offers a 40-hour workweek and benefits package, including a defined benefit pension plan.  Conditions of employment include an acceptable Criminal Record Check.
