Maintenance/Operator I
Posting #2016-25

The City of Steinbach has an opening for a full time Maintenance/Operator I position in the Public Works Department.

The successful applicant will operate a variety of equipment, such as sidewalk plow, asphalt roller, loader etc., used in road and drainage maintenance and repair activity, as well as perform a variety of labourer activities.

Qualifications: 

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license

  • Mechanically inclined

  • Required to work some weekends and evenings in cases of emergencies

In accordance with the City of Steinbach/CUPE Local 5260 Collective Agreement the starting salary for this position is $16.50 per hour, increasing to $17.50 per hour upon satisfactory completion of the 3 month probation period. The City offers a 40-hour work week with an excellent and comprehensive benefits package.  A criminal record check and drivers abstract will be required as a condition of employment.

Steinbach Aquatic Centre - Customer Service Representative
(1 full time and 1 part time)
Posting #2016-24

  • Full time must be available days, evenings, and weekends (40 hours/week);
  • Part time must be available days, evenings and weekends (approximately 15-20 hours/3-4 shifts week);
  • Must be friendly, self-motivated with excellent customer service, phone, and cash skills;
  • Computer skills including Excel, Word, and InDesign;
  • Must have or be willing to secure the SFA/CPR C certification.

Firefighter

Parks & Arena Maintenance
Posting #2016-23

The City of Steinbach has a full-time vacancy in the Parks & Recreation Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance duties at the arena (including ice making & refrigeration plant)
  • Maintenance of City parks and green spaces, playgrounds, boulevards and equipment

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the public
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Refrigeration Class Power Engineer’s License and Pesticide Applicator License or willing to secure
  • Willing to work weekend and evening shifts

The City offers a 40-hour workweek and a competitive wages and benefits package, including a defined benefit pension plan.  Conditions of employment include an acceptable Child Abuse Registry Check, Criminal Record Check and Drivers abstract.
