Notice of Nominations – 2026 City of Steinbach Election

NOTICE OF NOMINATIONS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that between September 16, 2026 and September 22, 2026, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., at the Steinbach City Hall, 225 Reimer Avenue, Steinbach, nominations will be received by appointment for the offices of:

• 1 Mayor and 6 Councillors of the City of Steinbach.

The nomination deadline is September 22nd, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.  Nominations cannot be accepted after this date and time.

All nominations shall be made in writing and shall be signed by at least twenty-five eligible voters of the City of Steinbach. Each nomination shall also be accompanied by the candidate’s declaration of qualification.

Nominations shall be filed in person at the above location, on the date and hours specified, or if arrangements are made, by an official agent or by email.  To obtain a nomination paper, and/or candidate’s declaration of qualification, contact the SEO at the telephone number listed below.

Nomination papers not accompanied by the required documents and not properly filed shall be rejected.

ADDITIONS TO THE VOTERS LIST AND/OR PERSONAL SECURITY PROTECTION REQUESTS

In accordance with Section 36 of The Municipal Councils and School Boards Election Act (MCSBEA), the City of Steinbach Voters List is open for changes or revisions.

• Any person who is eligible to vote in municipal elections in the Local Authority of the City of Steinbach can have their name added to the Voters List, or have any information about the voter on the Voters List corrected.
• Any person can request to have their name and address obscured from the Voters List.
  A person whose name has been obscured will receive a Personal Security Certificate and identification number. That person may only vote by Sealed Envelope Ballot and cannot vote in person at the regular or advance voting places.

To make revisions to the Voters List, a request must be submitted to the Senior Election Official, in-person (by appointment only), by e-mail, by mail or by filling out the form on Steinbach.ca/Election.

To have your name and address obscured from the Voters List, a written request must be submitted to the Senior Election Official in-person (by appointment only), by e-mail or by mail.

All changes to the voters list must be completed on or before September 22, 2026.

The next General Election takes place on October 28, 2026.
