Youth Recreation Hockey Program - 2021/22 Season

Welcome to the City of Steinbach Youth Recreational Hockey Program!

Fall program registration is on Friday, October 1, 2021 at 8 a.m.

Our goal is to provide a recreational hockey program whose focus is to provide a non-competitive hockey environment for children ages 7-16 to participate in the game. The cost for the program is $100.

*Please note that due to the Public Health Order released on Sept 3, 2021 by the Province of Manitoba, only persons over the age of 18 that can provide a QR Code (Vaccination Status) and photo identification will be permitted access to the T.G. Smith Centre. If you have a child(ren) enrolled in the Rec Hockey Program, they are able to enter the building on their own if a parent/guardian is unable to at this time.  Please review ‘Proof of Vaccination’ document that will be emailed to each enrolled participant.

This program is strictly for youth NOT participating in another hockey program, association or league.

Equipment Requirements
Full hockey equipment including: skates, shin pads, socks, athletic supporter, hockey pants, hockey gloves, stick, elbow pads, shoulder pads, neck guard, helmet with full cage, mouth guard.

The above equipment is required to ensure the safety of the participants. We require the equipment due to the incidental contact that comes with playing hockey. For those participants that require assistance with their equipment (i.e. Skate tying) we ask that the parent/guardian be available to do so.

Program Rules
1) No Body Checking
2) No Slap Shots
3) Adherence to all Hockey Rules (i.e. tripping, hooking, slashing etc).
4) No Fighting
5) No Profanity
6) Participants are to respect their fellow participants. Bullying or disrespectful treatment of others will result in removal from the ice and/or program.
7) Each participant must have a parent/guardian in attendance at all times.
8) Participants must wear a mask into the building, including the lobby and dressing rooms. The mask can be removed when the player is ready to enter the ice area.

Schedule
