Supplemental Taxes

What are Supplemental Taxes?

Supplemental assessments ensure that everyone pays their fair share of taxes according to the current value of their property and the services that they are receiving.

If you recently built a new home and have only received a tax bill for land, you may receive a supplementary tax bill(s).

Supplementary tax bills are mailed out the first week of October and are due December 31, 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

You are receiving a supplemental tax bill(s) due to a change to your property that was not reflected on your original tax bill.

This is often the case for new builds, recent subdivisions, renovations, additions, or demolitions that have taken place within the last year (though supplemental bills may date back two years).

The HATC may not be claimed on your supplemental tax bill. However, contact us to declare your principal residence for 2027 to receive it on future statements.

When filing your personal income taxes, homeowners may inquire with their accountant if they can apply for the credit at that time.

Credits are not automatically applied to other properties. If you would like to transfer a credit from one property to another, please contact our office. Once the credit has been transferred, you can pay the remaining balance on the account.
